Dr. Paul Mitchell is the Center Director for Eye Care of Delaware. He is a board certified medical optometrist with a special interest in glaucoma.

Well respected by his peers, Dr. Mitchell manages complex cases upon referral.

Dr. Mitchell earned both his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Optometry degrees at the Indiana University School of Optometry, where he received numerous academic scholarships and awards. He then completed externships at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and the VEF Center in Atlanta, Georgia with concentrations in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. Dr. Mitchell completed his training serving as staff optometrist at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine for two years.

 

Before joining Eye Care of Delaware in 1990, Dr. Mitchell was selected as the Center Director of Omni Eye Services in Wilmington. An active supporter of his professional associations, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of both the American and Delaware Optometric Associations.

 

An integral part of the practice, Dr. Mitchell’s experience and dedication ensure that his patients receive the highest level of care. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, gardening, biking and spending time with his family.
